What is Supervised Visitation?
Supervised visitation is a court-ordered or voluntary arrangement that allows a parent to spend time with their child in a secure and controlled setting, with a trained supervisor present at all times. This type of visitation is typically used when there are concerns about the child’s safety or well-being, or when reintroducing a parent into a child’s life after a period of absence.
The presence of a neutral third party helps ensure that visits are positive, appropriate, and focused on the needs of the child. Supervised visitation can provide reassurance for all parties involved, support healthy parent-child relationships, and create a pathway for families to move toward more independent contact over time.
